Basketball
Well done to the 1st and 2nd yr basketball teams who have started their games over the past few weeks. Both teams played Virginia College last week and had two great wins. Top scorers were C.Byrne and E.Delaney. Final score was 48-15. The 2nd years had a very strong win 42-0 with good scores from K.Martin, S.Hyland and O.Carey.
On Monday the teams played Loreto Navan. This was a tougher match playing against a lot of club players. Both teams found it hard to score. The final score was 13-8. E.Goux and E.Delaney were best for Scoil Mhuire.
2nd yrs had a slow start but settled into the game and won 25-12 with good scores and work-rate by G.Crinion and K.Martin.
Badminton
Well done to the 2 u16 badminton teams who competed in Loreto Navan yesterday against Meath schools. The Division 2 team beat a strong Loreto team 4-2 and Mercy Navan 5-1.
The Division 3 team beat Nobber and Mercy Navan to win their section out. Both teams will go forward to the Leinster finals in February. Well done!
